What is Forensics?

Forensics is returning to West High School for the 2018-2019 school year!

Forensics, founded in 1925, is a national speech and debate program. The National Speech & Debate Association (formerly National Forensics League) is a well renown program with a rich history. Forensics at West will be a class that gives students an opportunity to learn how to debate and speak eloquently.

The core values of the National Speech & Debate Association are:
Integrity
Inclusion
Leadership
Service

Students will be challenged to think critically, apply research skills, and be creative! Students will participate in the class, and then take their skills to competitions on the weekends. The 2018-2019 tournament schedule will be posted in May. This is a year-round activity with competitions starting in September and ending in late March.
