The Kern High School District is preparing for your student to return to in-person instruction on August 18, 2021, and we are excited to welcome your West High student to our campus. Following California Department of Public Health guidelines, all students and staff will need to wear masks while indoors. For students whose families have determined that their health would be at risk in an in-person setting, there is an option for your student to enroll in an independent study program called Kern Learn Extension. A description of the Kern Learn Extension program can be found on the Kern Learn website at: https://www.kernhigh.org/apps/pages/KernLearn. For parents and/or guardians who are interested in signing up their student for Kern Learn Extension, please contact our school to schedule a conference/phone call with your child’s school counselor. Counselors will provide more information concerning Kern Learn Extension and will explain the online Kern Learn Extension application form.
