Principal's Message

Welcome to West High!  Our staff is excited to welcome you back to our West High family!  West High has 54 years of a tradition of excellence, and we will continue the legacy of high expectations for academics, athletics, and activities where all students are given the opportunity to participate and succeed.  During this year, we will continue to concentrate our efforts on helping our students to be academically successful, socially responsible, and prepared for college and a career with the skills necessary to succeed in the 21st century.  Our students will be challenged to think critically, and we encourage them to have courage, collaborate, and care about one another as they learn valuable academic and life skills.   Viking PRIDE is the heart of our school culture, and I encourage you to discuss these important values with your child.   Our Viking PRIDE tenets are designed to help your child understand the value of Participating in school, being Responsible, understanding and modeling Integrity, developing the Determination to succeed, and having Empathy for each other.

Parents/Guardians- We hope that you will be actively involved in your child’s education at West High School this year.  I invite each of you to participate in our events by becoming active members of our athletic booster club or band boosters, joining our school site council, or other parent advisory teams. In our efforts to help you stay involved in your student’s education, we will continue to have our Parent and Family  Center open each day.  The center is dedicated to offering parents and families computer access (with Wi-Fi) and provide beneficial resources to help with your child's education.

Please, remember that West High is a school filled with dedicated teachers, counselors, support staff, and administrators, all with a common goal to ensure every student has the opportunity and support to learn and succeed at high levels.  Most importantly, remember that West is Best!

Sincerely,

Megan Gregor, Proud Principal
