Hey Vikings!  Counselors have started enrolling students for summer school. 

If you are interested in taking a summer school class, please reach out to your counselor to let her know that you are interested and able to attend; see dates and times in link below.  Spots are filling up, so please let your counselor know by Wednesday, May, 5th if you are interested in attending. 

 

Please keep in mind that summer school will be in person and capacity is limited, so not all students are guaranteed a spot. The counselor’s email addresses are listed at the bottom of this announcement. 

 

Priority registration for Summer School:

·         Non-grad Seniors

·         Juniors severely deficient in credits

·         Sophomore and Freshmen students severely deficient in credits

·         Current Juniors needing A-G recovery for university entrance

  • Summer school will be In-Person at West High; distance learning will not be offered at this point
  • Semester 1 classes run the first 3 weeks from June 14th through July 2nd
  • Semester 2 classes run the later 3 weeks from July 6th through July 23rd (note- July 5th is a holiday)
  • Attendance is strict as you are dropped at the end of your third absence
  • AM session goes from 7:30am to 12pm and PM session goes from 12:30pm to 5pm
Students not enrolled in a summer course are recommended to show up on the first day of summer school’s semester 1 session on Monday, June 14th at 7:30 A.M. Enrolled SS students who do not show up for their scheduled classes will be dropped and those students that are here on campus will be given first choice for open SS spots. 
Students not enrolled in a summer course are recommended to show up on the first day of summer school’s semester 2 session on Tuesday, July 6th at 7:30 A.M. Enrolled SS students who do not show up for their scheduled classes will be dropped and those students that are here on campus will be given first choice for open SS spots.
  • Students enrolled in Summer School will receive a letter indicating enrollment in SS.
  • Enrolled students will also receive an “all call” message indicating their enrollment in SS. 
There will be an AM and a PM session. Counselors will try to place you in your preferred session but spots are not guaranteed.
