Introduction to Business

Welcome to Introduction to Business, part of West High's two-year Business Pathway.

Introduction to Business is West High Schools only dual enrollment Career Technical Education (CTE)  course that teaches the basic building blocks of business management, marketing, finance, and personal finance.
Dual enrollment courses offer students an opportunity to earn college credits through a partnership with local colleges and university. Introduction to Business is offered at both Bakersfield College (BC) and Cal State University of Bakersfield (CSUB).
In Introduction to Business, students learn the basic functions of management, marketing, and finance, and how they are impacted by markets, competition, laws and the economy. We also discuss  entrepreneurship and the process of starting a business. My goal is to give students a head start, whether the goal is to pursue a business degree, start your own business, or go to work for a company immediately after graduation.
