First Day of School-Wednesday, August 17th

Viking Students- We are so excited to welcome you back to campus and welcome new Viking students to campus. School begins on Wednesday, August 17th at 8:30a.m. On Wednesday, August 17th, students will check class lists around campus to find their 1st-period class and then report to their first-period class to pick up their official schedule. Students must pick up their blue schedules on August 17th and attend classes, or they will be dropped from school. Zero and 8th-period classes will not start on the first day of school. Zero and 8th-period classes will begin on Monday, August 29th. Please remember that the bell schedule has changed and a regular day schedule starts at 8:30 am and school ends at 3:23 pm. We are excited for another great year of excellence, and we look forward to seeing you at West High on August 17th. Have a great Viking Day, and remember that West is Best!

CIF Playoff Games- How to Purchase Tickets

The CIF/Central Section has made the decision that all playoff games will be 100% digital for tickets sales to all events. As we all transition from ticket sellers to on-line ticket purchases here are a couple attachments that hopefully will help. I have also provided a link. As many of you are aware digital ticketing is being used at college and professional events as well as concerts. You will be able to pay with your credit, debit card, or Apple Pay. GOFAN.Co is the company and website. They also have an app. I wanted all of you to be aware of the changes for the playoffs and the convenience it allows.

Kern Learn Extension

The Kern High School District is preparing for your student to return to in-person instruction on August 18, 2021, and we are excited to welcome your West High student to our campus. Following California Department of Public Health guidelines, all students and staff will need to wear masks while indoors. For students whose families have determined that their health would be at risk in an in-person setting, there is an option for your student to enroll in an independent study program called Kern Learn Extension.
